A fellow Air Force veteran, Fred and I ran into each other by accident during lunch at the AF Security Police Academy chow hall, Lackland AFB, Texas in late 1969. We were in different classes and his was due to graduate in December 1969 before mine did on 16 Jan 1970. It's a fond memory of him. I also enjoyed seeing him and talking at the Detroit Tigers game the night before our 50th class reunion in the HR cafeteria. Formerly involved in the newspaper business in Arizona for many years, he found a higher calling in becoming a nurse late in life to have a direct impact on people's lives. Requiescat in Pace.
Prayers and condolences to Fred's family. Knowing that Fred was a Vietnam veteran who later in life became a registered nurse makes him a hero in my book.
